International Bird Tourism at Eaglenest
15 years ago Eaglenest wildlife sanctuary was unknown even within India. Prior to Ramana’s first visit in 1995 only one birdwatcher (a local forest officer) tourist had visited the area.
Following the research and conservation project initiated in 2003 the extraordinary collection of rare and spectacular birds (below) seen quite easily in Eaglenest has drawn thousands of visitors from all over the world.
Eaglenest bird tours are now a regular feature on the calendars of many of the top birdwatching companies in the world – providing local employment and a sense of pride and value of the global resource they are the guardians of!
