Welcome

I try to understand how marine organisms respond to their physical and biological environment in the ecological and evolutionary time scales. I use shelled molluscs as a model system partly because of their impressive fossil record, ubiquitous presence in the recent ecosystem, and the geochemical potential of their carbonate shells as proxies of the past environment. In addition to studying fossils in the field, we work on modern organisms using underwater observations, conduct laboratory experiments in aquariums and use statistical modeling.
