OPEN POSITION: Postdoctoral Fellow.

Work Location:   IISER-Pune.

Job Descriptions:

       We are currently looking for a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join our group. The research theme of our lab is "Synthesis of New Function through Molecular Engineering of Small and Bio-Macromolecule". We have taken major initiative in the area of Synthetic Virus. The main idea of this project is to systematically modify protein surface so that they would self assemble to make viral nanoparticles. The size, shape and container volume of these viral particles can be systematically tuned by changing the organic ligands that we attach to the protein surface. We envision that these virus particles can be used for variety of applications which includes vaccine development, drug delivery of small molecule, peptide, protein, siRNA, DNA and imaging agents for detection of diseases tissues such as cancer and inflammation.

1.   Ph.D in synthetic protein chemistry
2.   Should have experience in making protein reactive reagents
3.   Excellent technical knowledge and experience with protein purification using various chromatography methods required
4.   Experience of standard protein analysis techniques, including SDS-PAGE, western blot, analytical size exclusion chromatography
5.   Biophyscial characterization of protein conjugates which includes Fluorescence and CD Spectroscopy
6.   General molecular biology skills with experiences in PCR, cloning and site-directed mutagenesis highly desired
7.   Familiar with scientific software for analyzing and reporting data, and have excellent written and oral communication skills
8.   Candidates should be highly self-motivated, team-oriented, quick-learners who are able to influence for results
9.   Excellent record keeping is required
