Electric charge dequantization with Dirac neutrinos in CeνNS
Amir N. Khan
Observation of electrically charged neutrinos is crucial for charge dequantizaton and for revealing the nature of the neutrino. We analyze new data of the COHERENT experiment for the coherent neutrino-nucleus scattering to investigate the electric charges of neutrinos. With almost double the statistics and precision now, the statistical significance of the observed process has been enhanced to 11.6σ. We have found that the improved data also disfavor the zero electric charges of muon neutrino at 3.5σ and electron neutrinos at 3σ. As expected, we obtain robust constraints on millicharge and magnetic moment of neutrinos.
