Mathematical Modelling

Coordinators: Pranay Goel and Chaitanya Athale

Projects:

Class projects are entirely optional. We will adopt the following policy for projects: if you choose to do a modelling project for this class, you can add upto 30 points over and above the usual 100 grade points for the class. e.g. If you get a total of 80 points in the mid/endsems/assignments, and you do a project and get 25 points, your total is 105 points (out of 100) -- which makes it a straight A. (Anything above 100 will, of course, be treated as 100.)

A project has to involve modeling a system mathematically: either analytically or numerically, or any combination of either. A formal report has to be written up on your project (in Latex only), and a short 10+5 min. presentation is required. All of the above will contribute towards the final project grade.
