International conference on DFT and Applications.
In recent years, the electronic structure community in India and Asia, has experienced an enormous growth. In order to increase networking and collaborations we organized (in partnership with the European Psi-k network) the the first meeting that brought together nearly the entire Indian electronic structure community: NAMMA Psi-k in Bengaluru in 2023. "NAMMA" means ours in Kannada, the local language of Bengaluru. It was a huge success and the participants overwhelmingly expressed a desire that similar meetings be held biennially. Accordingly, the second such meeting will be held between 19-21 May, 2025 on the campus of Indian Institute of Science Education and Research in Pune, India from 19-21 May 2025. Keeping with the tradition, we have named it AAPALI Psi-k. आपली (āpali/aapali) means ours in Marathi, the local language of Pune.
The primary aim of this conference is to bring together scientists (both established and young researchers and students) from India and other parts of the world to hear about some of the latest developments in the field, to enable exchange of ideas and to foster collaborations between local and international scientists.
पुणे!
Pune, Maharashtra pulsates with a captivating blend of history, education, and modern industry. This sprawling city, often referred to as the "Queen of the Deccan", was the seat of the Maratha Empire, leaving behind a rich legacy visible in its majestic forts - like Sinhgad - and palaces - like Shaniwar Wada. A visit to the Aga Khan Palace, now a memorial to Mahatma Gandhi, transports you back in time. Pune's cultural and educational significance is undeniable. The city is brimming with prestigious academic institutes and research labs. From classical music and theatre to vibrant literary and spiritual centers, Pune's artistic soul is ever-present. However, Pune is not simply rooted in the past. Today, it flourishes as a major IT hub, attracting young professionals and fostering a dynamic, cosmopolitan atmosphere. This growth is evident in its well-developed infrastructure and contemporary vibe. So, whether you're a history buff seeking ancient monuments, a student yearning for academic excellence, or a professional seeking an energetic city, Pune offers a remarkable and multifaceted experience
